Specly
Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 25, 2026
Specly is committed to making its website and mobile app usable by people with a wide range of vision, hearing, mobility, cognitive, and assistive-technology needs.
We work to improve accessibility by following recognized practices and reviewing usability on an ongoing basis. Where applicable, we aim to align with recognized accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and with accessibility expectations under applicable laws such as the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). Specly is not represented as fully WCAG- or AODA-compliant unless and until we complete formal conformance testing.
Specly iOS app
The Specly iOS app is designed with accessibility in mind, including support for:
- VoiceOver labels and hints on core flows such as login, onboarding, discovery, requests, chat, profile, and settings
- Dark, Light, and System appearance options
- Reduced Motion preferences for supported animations
- labeled buttons and controls intended to support Voice Control where applicable
- readable contrast on primary screens and action controls
- clear form labels for authentication, support, and profile settings
- visible status text or confirmation for important settings actions
Some screens still use fixed text sizes in places and may not yet fully support Dynamic Type across every view. We are actively working toward broader Dynamic Type support across the app and continue improving accessibility as the product evolves.
Specly website
For ruthverse.com and Specly legal pages, we take steps such as:
- using clear page structure and headings
- writing content in plain language where possible
- supporting keyboard-accessible navigation where the website platform allows
- using color and contrast choices intended to improve readability
- reviewing reported accessibility barriers and making reasonable improvements
Some parts of the website may rely on third-party tools, templates, or platform features that are not fully controlled by Specly. We continue to review and improve those areas where possible.
Known limitations
- Not all text may scale with iOS Dynamic Type settings yet; broader support is an active improvement area.
- Some decorative or animated visual elements may remain visible when Reduce Motion is enabled on parts of the website.
- Third-party authentication or platform flows may present accessibility experiences controlled by Apple, Google, or other providers.
- Specly does not currently include video profiles, voice notes, or other user-generated audio or video that would require captions or transcripts.
