Ruth Okolo
AI & iOS Engineer · RuthVerse Founder·Founder of RuthVerse
I can spend hours building because I genuinely love what I do. Every app I create comes from passion, curiosity, and the desire to make something meaningful.
Ruth Okolo is an AI and iOS Engineer and founder of RuthVerse, her independent studio for AI-powered iOS apps including CleerSplit, Specly, and Renoura. She owns the full build — product thinking, SwiftUI implementation, TestFlight releases, and AI features in production — with product design as a supporting skill, not her primary headline.
My journey
Her journey began in sales, where she learned to listen deeply and identify pain points before they became product briefs. That habit of hearing what people actually need still shapes every feature she ships. A BSc. in Mathematics from the University of Saskatchewan gave her a systems mindset for patterns, logic, and user behaviour; hands-on iOS engineering and AI prototyping sharpened how she ships software, with product design training (Google UX Design certificate) supporting clarity and craft.
How I build
Today Ruth works independently as the founder of RuthVerse. She owns the full build: product thinking, SwiftUI implementation, TestFlight releases, and AI features in production — interface design included when it helps the app ship. There is no handoff between idea and code. The same person who defines the flow writes the Swift and watches real people use it in beta.
RuthVerse apps
CleerSplit helps groups split shared expenses without awkward money tension. Specly connects people through shared activities and real world meetups. Renoura helps users track subscriptions, spot spending patterns, and cancel what no longer serves them. Each app is designed and built from start to finish under the RuthVerse name.
AI & community
Ruth also builds with AI across her stack, from prototyping with Cursor to shipping production features with RAG, tool calling, and the RuthVerse Product Guide on ruthverse.com. She documents how she works on her AI case studies page and shares the process openly with the builder community. Outside the codebase, she helps energize local builder communities, including Cursor meetups that have brought hundreds of people together in person.
Her work is still defined by the same instincts as always: a strong eye for detail, a user first mindset, and a deep desire to make software feel clear, human, and trustworthy. She is a fast learner, always eager to grow, expanding her thinking, picking up something new, and sharpening her skills with every app she ships.
